Just plain "Conan," dammit

A still bearded Conan O'Brien seems to be playing down expectations as he finally announces the name of his new late night talk show. Conan--"simple, pure, like the man himself"--will premiere Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. on TBS and way the hell in the middle of the night or something on CTV.
The new title fits. As comedian (and former O'Brien staffer) Louie C.K. said a press tour or two ago, Conan really didn't ever need The Tonight Show. Conan already had his own brand--Conan.
O'Brien was also forced to go with the one word moniker after learning that the catchier title George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight was already taken.
