PASADENA, Calif.--Have a story in today's Toronto Star on
Joan Baez and
Patti Smith. The two music icons were at the PBS section of press tour on Sunday, although Baez was via satellite (and perhaps seemed just that much more formidible, being 20 feet tall and all).
Smith was a revelation, smiling, friendly, stayed late at the PBS cocktail reception following her press conference. She brought a guitar and treated reporters to a couple of simple tunes. Baez seemed less mellow, especially after the dude from Minneapolis kept asking her about Bob Dylan. Read all about it
